I've had this outdoors for about a month and is doing well. Sturdy bright blooms and 2 new growths. Dainty blooms but leaves still grow around a foot long.

I've branched out and given this one a try.A small plant and managed to get 3 blooms so I'm doing the happy dance. Our colors vary a bit but glad to have one. Lovely little orchid(without leaves of course!).

Nice. Very elegants without the leaves.

With leaves, the 'dainty' plant turns into quite a big plant - leaves are about 12inches long and require a lot of space.
The plant is doing what it did last year - another growth has appeared which has no chance of maturing prior to dormancy. Weird.
BTW - the older bulbs always crinkle. The 2 newer bulbs are plump and round.

The new growth is tucked in there

Thumbs up

These cast quite a shadow! Ours look similar now but I'm still watering and guess I'll taper off next month. I keep checking my info on these new acquisitions but always welcome input from anyone.

I'm going to divide mine into 2, probably Feb or March. Its outgrown its pot anyway and I am curious to see whether the older and shriveled backbulbs will sprout.

BTW - I have mine on a wire hanger, its topheavy and would fall over if it was just upright.

Orchids never cease to amaze me.
I took a close look at my Dainty and noticed 2 spikes developing - this from an orchid that is only supposed to bloom from a leafless bulb and only ever bloomed that way for me.

Wow...still sporting leaves. I'd be so confused by this!
