Max. tonsbergii
My orchid society made a visit to California Orchids in Bolinas, CA, and I snagged this beauty. It seems like there is not a lot of discussion about this species. It is a cool to intermediate grower from Venezuela, from what I can find. If anyone has experience with it, I'd love to hear about what you have done.
The flowers are 5 3/4 inches tall--huge compared to my other maxillarias. My phone-photo skills are not doing justice to the soft color of this bloom.

I can't add anything about it's culture, sorry. But, it is a beauty and would definitely have picked it up too.

And me as well, I have never heard of it. But I certainly would have gotten it. It looks like a Bulbo bloom to me, love it. I hope it's easier to grow.
