Lycaste lasioglossa dormant period

I recently purchased a fairly large Lycaste lasioglossa in bloom and spike. The last of the blooming spikes is about to open.

I understand that they have a dormant period and I've seen the culture sheet. Mine currently doesn't show any sign of dropping its leaves yet.

So I'm not quite clear on what causes the dormancy.

I'm growing it in my kitchen window which has a goodly amount of light and the largest temp swings that I can manage in the house around 70 or 72 during the day and low 60s at night.

Do I need to give it less light?

Should I just start tapering down the water and then with hold after the last flower is done?

I have a Lycaste Dainty that is currently in full growth mode. I only stop watering when the leaves start to yellow as by then they are not providing nutrition to the bulbs. Mine is in a south-facing window at basically the same temps as yours. The dormancy trigger ( in my conditions) is the change in light levels that progress in Winter as well as the maturity of the new bulbs.
The photo taken today shows the 2 new bulbs in comparison to the old bulb. In the next few weeks the new bulbs should catch up in size to the old.

I acquired a Dainty sev.months ago with 3 somewhat shriveled bulbs but 2 that are plumper.I was under the impression that the parents,campbellii and candida,are deciduous but I've had no leaf drop at all. I'm keeping it drier and it sits on the floor at the edge of growlights(no more room in a south window).Is my care correct or what should be changed? TY to all for advice.

DeaC - I would move it to higher light and water so that those bulbs plump up. I don't think it's too late to do so. I'm assuming that the 2 are current year growth. GL.

A speedy reply is most appreciated! Now to find better light,increase waterings and hope it's as lovely as yours or almost so!

I have 5 old bulbs and one with three large leaves. I've only had it about a month. All six bulbs are very plump and firm. I'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tips.
