Here's a new one I got on ebay - lucky me - though I first saw it on the site of a Canadian vendor. Then was sad that they had a minimum $500 order. Of course I jumped to get it in spike.

This is Propescapetalum (or Pop.) Pop Glicky. The interesting thing with this registration is that the tag says Pop. Pop Glicky but the RHS registration calls it Propescapetalum Glicky, thus Pop. Glicky. Maybe a mix up? Anywho it's a cross between Propetalum Lise Gobeille & Zygotoria (aka Bollopetalum) Midnight Blue.

This one spike has four blooms; two of them opened basically at the same time while the third opened yesterday after I took these pictures. The third one is smaller and a bit more washed out (it's also on the end). They're quite fragrant and sweet almost like hyacinth crossed with rose. It's scent is a bit sweeter than my Zygolum Louisendorf. Oh and the flowers are about 1.5 inches wide and equally or little less in height.

Taking pics was not the easiest because I wanted to get the color more accurate. The trick is that in real time while my pics are just about right, the green in between the reddish-brown is more glowing from the light coming through. Also if you notice the white of the lip really is more of a dingy off-white. As I sit here with it next to me I keep getting little breaths of fragrance from it.

I think you should change your avatar to zygogirl
This cross looks like it also gets those dreaded black spots/streaks ?........or have I just got those on the brain ?

Zygogirl for now until something else hooks me! Which is funny now that I think about it because I thought Oncidiums would take me down because there's so much variety there. Catts don't seem to like me much and I can't do the big ones. When I first got Paphs I thought that I was hooked there...I come down with these Orchid bugs man, sometimes I'm treated for them and I'm good. What's even sillier is that Zygos aren't that small so I can't even say it's their size. But I am a bit obsessed with finding different ones. By the time my own crosses come to bare flowers I'll be a whole new orchid hobbyist, God willing I'm still around. Now I'm going to have to start a thread about what phases people have gone through...

Enough of that dribble...You know I've only had this plant for a couple of weeks now and so far it does not have the spotting/streaking, I'm very pleased to say this. Honestly now that I'm looking at some of my plants the only one I have at present that has it really bad is my Alantuckerara and it arrived like that (Seattle Orchids got from Hawaii). I guess I'll really see this summer though when they go outside if the heat - can we please have another mild summer here in the Midwest?? - and water on the leaves bring this out in them.

Thanks!

Nice unusual Zygo hybrid. You are correct. Somewhere along the way an extra Pop got inserted in the name. Pop. Glicky it is. You're lucky it came with a tag at all, or it wasn't a complete fabrication.
