Unfortunately, I discovered it was infected with fusarium wilt, and trashed it

They buy them that way from what I understand. They get better deals on NOID orchids.
I have the same plant as you from Trader joes and it smells nice too.
The best ID I got was Zygonisia Murasakikomachi. I can not say for sure that is what it is but pretty darn close. Mine is slow growing.

Snowflake I'm glad you chimed in as I was thinking of your plant when I saw this one.
WhiteRabbit that is super sad! Sorry to hear that.

I bought one of these today. I googled a lot of different hybrids and it looks mostly like this. It smells exactly like lilies that was my first thought!
Roquebrune 'Violet Dream'

Out of curiosity, is it in a clear plastic container? I've found that some Phals from box stores are in clear plastic pots with the name and a long number printed on the plastic.

Ashleyma I've learned that a lot of Orchids are so tricky in terms of IDing them as hybrids can I such subtle differences. I've learned even more so that this is especially true with Zygos and their hybrids. They all look so darn similar I often wonder why people bother to call them something different!!! (Of course that's only taking the blooms into account, some flowers may look the same but occur on plants of completely different heights.)
Like I said in your thread I have Roqubrune 'Select' and it has much less 'purple'. Here is the thread I created for it and my 'Blue Water Sailing' (a Cynosure hybrid).

It came in a green slotted pot that was placed in a terra cotta pot. It was as beautiful, I somehow got water in the crown and it has started to rot. Hopefully I caught it in time 😞.

I have not had mine long enought to say. I got mine in November. For me I have not had black spots on the leaves. I do get black tips from too much frets. But no spots. I am not sure what causes that.
I am happy to report I have a new bulb growing! I love the leaves of these orchids. Even out of bloom they look great.
