well hello everyone!!! i am back with more questions.
so the little root that started peeking out of the basket is now brown and the root tip is mushy. I don't know what happened. the plant is still doing very well and i can see even more thick healthy green roots starting to grow out of the pot.
i read somewhere that this orchid needs good water. I have recently moved from san francisco ( which has very good tap water, which i used to water all of my orchids) to Palm Desert california where the water, from the smell of it, isn't as pure. i was buying distilled water but it was just getting too pricey so on 2/5/15 i used Palm Desert tap water for the first time. by the 7th the root was going brown and by the 10th the tip had become mushy. could this be from the tap water? if thats the case why don't the other roots have this problem? am i worried over nothing since the plant is still going very healthy?
any insight would be helpful
