Default Help Please! Alguloa clowesii 'Monte Vista' Not Dormant

Hey guys, Kevin here. I'm a little bit worried about my Anguloa. By this time of the year, it should be dormant and I should reduce watering as well. The problem here though is that this one decided to come up with two very good-looking new growths. What should I do with it? If I wait for them to grow, it may take another two months, interrupting their dormancy from December to March . Should I continue my watering regime until the growths have stopped and then start the dormancy? If so wouldn't that be a waste of time since the growths will drop their leaves anyways? The plant is almost blooming size and the temperature hovers around 75% F. Humidity levels are normal and lighting has not changed.

what lighting do you have ? if its under lights then you should be reducing the number of hours the lights are on. According to Fred Clarke - for catasetums - take 1hr off Oct, Nov, Dec ( so 3hrs in total ). Jan stays, then start adding 1hr in Feb, Mar, April. This should induce dormancy. As for yours - if they do not go dormant, then I would just do the above and carry on watering.....
You could also e-mail him/call him and ask his advice. Sunset Valley Orchids.
