Default Maxillaria tenuifolia

I received this orchid last year for my birthday from grandfather, in bloom. A few months later it bloomed again. And once more a few months after.
Then it took a long rest. Killed most of its old psuedobulbs, and scared me. Grew like mad after that.

I treat it pretty rough. It grows in the garden year round, with my roses
Watered daily. Most of the time. Sometimes I forget about it for weeks at a time. Fertilise it with rose fertiliser along with my roses.
Sun all day. Direct sunlight. All day.
It's growing.... mounted? It's a cedar board, and they made this nest/pocket thing out of... some kind of moss I've never seen before. And they attached the pocket to the board, and filled with chunky bark.
First bud to open. Smells great.

It looks very happy. I'm convinced they like to be abused. I have one that gets turned over, chewed on, forgotten about, and bulbs popped off. It still manages to bloom every year.

You can't see the mass of old yellowing psuedobulbs lol. Tons of new growth though. A very nice species that's tough as nails.

Fansastic!

I got a flower on this for the first time this year, having had the plant for years. Someone said it needs heavy fertilising in the winter and as bright a light as you can give it all year. Mine's been brighter this year due to a warmer summer and I think that might be the difference.

Yeah. This orchid loves its food.
Fertiliser, water, light.
I'm happy yours finally flowered. I remember reading the project plant thread.
