The purpose of this thread is to document the growth of a recently acquired Zygopetalum hybrid, Bright Imagination.
Two small 'nubs' were revealed after peeling back dead tissue at the base of the newest pseudobulb. One of the nubs has begun to grow. Hopefully, it will mature and bloom.
Its progress will be tracked here, in photographs.
I created a
similar thread with an Oncidium last year, but as I understand it, Zygos grow and flower in a different pattern than Oncs. I'm looking forward to seeing that difference firsthand.
The Oncidium took 5 months to go from tiny, new growth to complete formation of the pseudobulb, so I will assume the same for this plant. Who knows what surprises await, so pull up a chair, and feel free to share your Zygo stories
