I bought this plant from Tropical Orchid Farms out of Hawaii. I liked its picture and description and it was very inexpensive. It arrived May o4, 2014 in bud. I did not know how to grow it but I kept it in a bright eastern window, plenty of air flow. I thought the blooms looked like Dendrobium flowers, but the plant looks like Oncidium. This is their time to grow, so I've watered this plant as often as I have watered my Dendrobium and Oncidium.

About a week after the plant arrived a bud opened and about a week later it died. But then the other buds have opened but did not die. Instead, they started to bulge out behind the flower. Are these seed pods?

A picture of the flower.

And here are the flowers that are becoming seed pods?

Cool ! You have the bug that can pollinate it. You have several seed pods now....next blooming season all around the rim of your pot will be more flowers galore....its just fantastic to look at.
Meanwhile, you need to prepare for flasking ....

If these seed pods mature, I will have them flasked. If the seeds sprout, I'm going to have to find homes.

Thanks for looking Bud!

It is possibly self pollinating. I would only allow as much seed pods to ripen as I'd like to raise plantlets.
