Beautiful plants. I have a campbellii that hasnt bloomed yet I think because it's not yet big enough. Can you expand on how you grow these? Thanks.

Glad you like them.

I grow all my lycaste in a mix that holds some moisture but it's never soggy...a mix of orchiata, chopped sphag and shredded redwood. I know people who grow these in straight sphag and some people who grow them in coir and others who use a bark mix. I don't think they are particularly picky about the mix as long as it gives them enough moisture but makes sure the roots aren't soggy wet all the time. Open and airy but moist...if that makes sense.

I water a lot when they are actively growing...not letting them dry out much at all. When they drop their leaves (all of mine do but some don't)...I water very sparingly and just around the edges of the pots until I see new growth.

The lycaste that I grow require bright light but I know some prefer less. I grow them next to catts...bright but no direct sun.

If you're giving it enough light then I would say you're right about it likely not being old enough yet. It's one of the smaller species so hopefully you don't have to wait too long.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm on the right track with mine. I will post pics if it blooms.
