Wow, looking great!

Do you keep this in high light. I can't get mine to flower, and I notice yours is much more light yellow/green, rather than mine being quite dark green.

These guys need as much light as they can take without burning! I had too little light and had almost no blooms 2 years ago. I increased the light and was delighted at the improvement in this year's display.

Thanks Carrie,

I did try increasing light last year but it wasn't enough to lighten the colour of the plant. To be honest I'm not sure I can brighten it any more, so I might just have to enjoy this one for the plant and not get flowers

Last year I had it in the brightest spot in the garden for the summer, full sun a lot of the day. It didn't burn and didn't even lighten in colour. All that happened was it got 'pock marks' from a heavy hail storm!

I keep it in the brightest spot in the house over the winter as well, that also get's full sun (when it decides to shine) but is through glass. I don't think it would cope with being outside all winter.

Anyway, will try it again this year, we didn't have a particularly bright summer last year so maybe we will get a better one this year.

Rosie,
Not sure what to suggest then. I know they do like to be pot bound. I water mine when it is almost dry and mist it regularly. I feed with MSU. In the summer I am outdoors and in the winter, i now hang it close to the run room roof (i.e. glass). Although my foliage doesn't turn yellow, it seems to be enough. it i possible that yours just isn't big enough yet?

Maybe it just needs a few more years

Rosie, mine is hanging in a Mango tree, stays out whole year. It gets quite a bit of direct sun and also filtered sun. I think it likes heat. Side exposed to more of direct sun seems to grow more. Plant is in a clay pot without holes except for drainage. This is one of the first orchids I got, had no clue back then about best media and put whatever I had at home for my Hoyas.Whole pot is then placed in the plastic hanging pot. Gets watered almost daily in summer and less in winter.
I have seen them grow to enormous size,in a tree fern pot/basket.
It is pretty carefree here....I hardly fertilize it.

I have two, and one of them is quite large. I've seen pictures of much much smaller ones in flower. Oh well... I enjoy going it anyway

Not sure I can keep mine out all year... get's a lot colder than in Florida!

Mine are both mounted and grow really well that way. I have a mass off route growth and new growths on the plant growing just now
