Talking Is this a Bifrenaria harrisoniae spike?
A strange growth appeared and its soft to the touch and it hasn't formed any roots but there is a new growth on the other side. The actual pseudobulb growth was very hard ans more rounded/wider at the base.

I repotted the plant into Styrofoam
and lava rock drainage with orchidata as well as a dressing of high quality new zealand sphagnum moss.
