On wood living lion's tongue

Xylobium leontoglossum is Greek for: on wood living lions tongue.
Taxonomically Xylobium belongs to the Maxillariinae, related to Rudolfiella and more remote to Lycaste and Anguloa. The genus is widespread from the West Indies down south along the Andes and easy to grow, like a Lycaste. Some origin from lowlands, other from high elevations up to 2500 meters.
In collections Xylobiums are not often seen due to their large plant size. Next to squalens this Xyl. leontoglossum is one of the better known species from Colombia and Ecuador. I have a crush for uncommon plants and so I bought it yesterday. If you look closely, you see more flower stems. You can also see the rugose lip, which is typically held uppermost or to the top of the inflorescence partially rotated.
The total plant measures 2 and a half feet. Unscented.
