Bud, I went to the Kawamoto Orchid site and then was directed to their ebay store. I purchased one and they shipped it 2 day FexEd and I received it in the 2 day period! It was wrapped so well and included a heat pack for which I was very happy to see. I had not told them about the weather here but I feel that they checked. The plant is really in fantastic shape with good growth. I gave it a drink of water even though the wrappings were damp and I placed it in its new home! LOL I emailed Kawamoto Orchids to give them feedback on ebay and also a personal email to tell them that I was very, very happy with the transaction, etc....Thanks so much for the recommendation.

I am glad you are happy with your elata. Kawamoto orchids is always trustworthy and reliable....they take good care of your orchids. Your elata is near blooming size and they must have given you at least five bulbs in your pot....it will bloom for you maybe next year. Just follow the culture and read my tips on the first page. You have a better humidity in winter that I do, and just give it warmth and bright light.....you're set!

Bud,
Thanks so much for the encouraging remarks. I will be looking at your tips again. To think, all of us started with one orchid. Sheesh, beautiful and I love all of them!

but your elata is special because it is an endangered species....and it is the national flower of Panama. Just owning it and taking care of it is already helping the plant world.

Thank you Bud and so glad that you recommended this grower in Hawaii. I am so glad that he is highly thought of and with the way this was wrapped and cared for, I believe they care also about the flowers. I know I do and this is a special one for me.

Hi, Managed to buy another Dove Orchid from Andy's Orchids and what another great experience. Overnight from California and this is to Elmira, NY and then to our home in Pennsylvania. Wrapped wonderfully, plant in excellent condition and I am a happy camper.
