Cochleanthes flabelliformis Male
Default Cochleanthes flabelliformis

Favouring intermediate to warm humid forests, this fan shaped orchid can be found in a wide area from Jamaica and Nicaragua to the south of Brazil. It has broader leaves indicating that not much light is needed, and is fond of regular watering and more or less even conditions. Flower size 4-5 cm with a blue lip.

I like how the streaks on the lip give the impression of a waterfall. Good growing.

The lip almost looks like a zygo!

Oh, I do want to try more of these. I really like the flowers of the cochleanthes and the bollea orchids.
