I bought a Maxillaria pygmaea from the speaker at my last orchid meeting. Its a cute little plant mounted on piece of tree fern and apparetly has yellow flowers. The problem is i checked orchidspecies.com and did a google search and couldn't find any info. has anybody heard of this species? I will try to post some pictures later
thanks
Karl
the currently accepted name for Maxillaria pygmaea is Christensonella paranaensis. Judging by the shape and coloration of the pseudobulbs, I'd say it's more likely that your plant is a different Christensonella species, possibly neowiedii.
thank you guys. I believe it is Christensonella vitelliniflora because suppposidly it has yellow flowers. I will try to get in contact with him just to be sure.
