Excellent job. I haven't got any, but perhaps I'll give it a try. Are they difficult to grow?

If I can grow this orchid, anyone can!
I got this orchid last year from Orchids Garden Centre (formerly Oak Hill Gardens). I read on this forum that "everyone should have one in their collection" and who was I to argue?
I grow this on my bay windowsill where it receives a nice morning light and pretty cool temps through the winter. It is potted in a pretty large grade bark mix and, although I have not repotted it since I got it, the bulbs are nice and fat and there is always new growth, so I am assuming that the roots are happy. The tag says it needs a slightly dry winter rest, so I tried to do that...watering lightly each week.
The fragrance is wonderful. The foliage is neat and grasslike. And it has to be easy, because I got it to bloom and I am a newcomer to orchids!

I didn't know about the winter rest thing.
I got mine as a NOID from a garden center so I had to Google the care.

What I gleaned was lots of water and light and heat...
But that was summer care.
Luckily I think I gave it a slight winter rest naturally by being so busy...
Hopefully it will bloom for me.
I've never smelled the scent.

really cool.

I've not managed to bloom this one yet. Mine grows like a weed but no flowers. Great to see you are having success with yours!
