Pescatorea wallisii seed pod maturity? Male
Default Pescatorea wallisii seed pod maturity?

Hello everyone -
I heard that someone posted about having bred a Pescatorea and sown seed - hope they are reading!
I self-crossed my Pesc. wallisii - How long should I wait to harvest the pods? They were bred on 11/11/2012 and are apparently ripening well.
Here are a couple pics -

And what is the difference between green pod harvesting and dry-pod harvesting - besides the obvious - one being harvested green, one when pod is dry - what are advantages, disadvantages?
Any help is appreciated!
Steve

My preference - and recommendation - is to be observant, and the moment you see any sign of yellowing in either end of the capsule, harvest it for green pod sowing.

By sowing green, you have not exposed to seed to contaminants.
