Default 4' Dbl Spiked Lycaste NOID

I have had this one for some time, but never knew the name of it. This is the first time it is sending out such large spikes with multiple sprays per spike.
If you know this kind then do tell!
Enjoy

I don't think it is a Lycaste - whatever it is, it is gorgeous. Can you get a pic of the entire plant?

I also don't think that this is a Lycaste but rather a bletilla striata or a hybrid of it. Lycaste blooms are usually born singlely and the stems are short.

Check out the pics here.

I think you are right my dear; after looking at the photos, and the leaves of this terrestrial specie of orchid, I am confident I have learned a new orchid type today.
Thanks! Bletilla Striata!

Looking at photos of the orchids you have suggested to me they all don't resemble this one. All of those you mentioned have sepals and petals; 4 parts making up a bloom. This orchid has only 3 parts.

This is definitely a lycaste. Just finished looking in my orchid book and reading up and the description of the lycaste is dead on from he bloom shape to round flattened pseudobulbs that nest tightly together like a basket of eggs and 2 foot leaves.
Its a Lycaste alright.
