Beautiful! I wish I had the room to grow a zygo as their flowers are generally great looking but everyone I've seen smells amazing too.

Thanks everyone. This hybrid is much smaller in terms of height than standard hybrids. Growth habit is also good. Mine needs to be split/repotted as I mistakenly put it in a 6in net pot and now the roots are getting crushed

I set 3 pods on this, but the real reason for this update is for silken. It's grown another spike - and it started when the new foliage was about 8 inches high ! Which proves that anything is possible with a zygo.

Thanks for the update! Still no spikes on mine. The first new growth stalled around the 4 or 5 inch height and I thought, good, it is working on a spike instead. But it didn't and continued to slowly grow so it is now around 7 or 8 inches. The smaller growth is still around 4 inches tall. Both are lush and healthy looking and I've been using more phosphate and less nitrogen to induce blooms.

What kind of light and temps does yours grow in? Mine is close under 1 HO T5 light and the greenhouse in winter is a bit cool. Different than the temps it had in summer when it bloomed.

it's in a SF unshaded window but doesn't get sun from about 2.30pm on. Temps are normal household temps - about 67f overnight. It does get to about 77f max in the day as a result of the sunlight.
As the year progresses I put up shade-cloth and then its outdoors for the spring/summer. With osmocote in the pots - this year it will be Dynamite.
I use aquarium temp water for indoor watering ( use a thermostat to heat the water in a watering can) and fertilise weakly, weekly. Alternate between Hausermann's liquid and Peters.
It sounds like a palava, but its now routine.

What windows do you all keep your zygos in? Do you bring them outside when weather permits?
I have had one for about a month now in an eastern window with a sheer curtain. I was contemplating on moving it and my cymbidiums to a west window with a sheer curtain. Or should I keep them all in the east window?
I kind of want to bring it outside in spring and back in when it gets hot and back out as temps drop. But I'm not sure.
All those pics look great I cant wait to get blooms on mine. It's a Acacallis x self, supposed to have blueish white blooms.

my zygos and cyms are in SF ( south facing ) windows, the smaller zygos are shaded with aluminet shade cloth.
Yes - they are placed outdoors in Spring/Summer.
Do you have an acacallis or a zygonisia cynosure ? ( cross between a zygopetalum and an aganisia ) My zygonisia are much smaller than any of the zygos and they are shaded........also seem to like a lot more watering.
