Perfumed Maxillaria setigera
This species of large flowers is native to Amazon forest (Brazil and neighbor countries). The flowers reach 3.9”, sometimes 4.5” (from the dorsal sepal tip to the ventral sepal tip), and are wonderfully perfumed during the day. The soft color transition in the segments is very attractive to me. If the flowers are large, the plant, accordingly, is large too, but the pseudo bulbs are comparatively small. It is a hardy, vigorous plant that will get specimen size in just two or three years. Really beautiful, but, as nothing is perfect, the setback is the size: the leaves can easily be 20” long.

Always liked these species , after nearly being knocked out by the coconut fragrance of M.tenuifolia , this one must get put on the mile long list as well . Are many more of these fragrant ?
