My Zygo bloomed for me this August. It had only one spike and two blooms, but it was the first time it bloomed with me (the second time it bloomed, I bought it in bloom). Now, the growth that had the spike has not yet formed the bulb, but there's already a new growth coming up. Hopefully I'll be able to get it to mature well and give me more spikes and flowers than the other one.

I'll have to start checking my Zygo that bloomed in Aug. and see if the new growth is starting. I thought the other one that bloomed would have to grow more first!

Good luck with more blooms next time around.

Thanks and the same to you. Have you seen if there's new growth starting?

I just looked and there is nothing visible on the younger one that produced the spikes. But there is a small new growth started on the previous mature growth. That's the growth that produced this summers new growth that spiked. Hope I haven't really confused it now!

Plants don't allways follow the scheme we think they should follow. But nature is wise and knows what to do. I'll check again on mine just to make sure there's no other growth.

Definitely nothing there on the older bulb. Just one new growth on the youngest growth and something between the lowest leaves on the opposite side of where the spike grew (perhaps an aborted second spike?).

Or a 2nd new growth?? I hope I get another growth from the young one that just bloomed. I only cut the spike down a week ago so maybe it needs a bit of time to grow a new growth now.

No, it doesn't look like a growth. I think it's rather an aborted spike.
