Zygopetalum Advance Australia HOF - 32 blooms/buds

We had huge storms in the northeast US yesterday, so I brought most of my orchids inside before the big winds and heavy rains, especially this Z. Advance Australia HOF (What does the HOF stand for??) which had 32 buds on 3 spikes on one growth. A few opened overnight. It is its second blooming this year. The lip color is really a deep purple as shone in one of the pictures, not the pinky color shown in the others.

Very nice! Wow, 3 spikes and that many buds on one growth! I felt blessed with 2 spikes and 11 flowers on my Zygo recently but it was a first time bloom!

In OrchidWiz, I saw an awarded hybrid whose cultivar name is H.O.F. and it has an AM award, so this is likely your cultivar name. can't say what it stands for tho. Maybe someone's name or something.

Thanks Rosie. All 32 buds are now open and it is a mass of color. We're having house guests this weekend, so I plan to use it to decorate the guest room!

This is a very old thread, so i apologize if this question has been answered in the meantime! I believe the HOF stands for Hall Of Fame, indicating that this orchid won an award, or at least its heritage did
