Thanks! I recommend getting a Zygo for sure after having enjoyed this one! I'm tempted to get another one now!

I have one that almost died Silken, I've been tempted by getting a new one, but sort of want to prove I can save this one first. It's been about 3 years and it got down to one rootless p-bulb (the rest of the growth rotted off, the the roots followed later). I was about to throw it out not long after and noticed a tiny growth. It developed then rotted off, but there was a new growth behind it... which developed a tiny p-bulb then rotted off. That cycle repeated 3 times but each time left behind new roots. Anyway, the one early this year didn't rot and while it's bulb is quite small it's bigger than previous ones and it's still there with another new growth beside it. I used seaweed extract with it over the summer and it as these fat fat roots coming out of the new growth. We shall see... I hope it might be happy at last

Good luck with it Rosie. I've had that happen with other orchids and it is so frustrating when it seems I am doing everything right. I think the seaweed will help it along!

Very very nice. My Zygopetalum louisendorff flowered, but only two flowers and no scent. I guess I did something wrong. It was outside in bright shade and perhaps I took it back inside too soon. I was afraid something would eat the buds. Now, it's back outside and it's growing a new growth. I'll take it inside again when night temps drop below 15°C.

Thanks! Maybe yours just produces less blooms. To me, any blooms are better than none. Mine had a fair bit of sun and got bounced around between inside and out and I brought it in too when it was in bud because weevils bored thru some buds of other orchids last year.

Mine got some rain in the crown and turned a leaf black!
