Default Dichaea glauca

Dichaea species have always confounded me. It has been difficult trying to figure out how to grow Dichaea spp. successfully in the long run.

With that said, I don't really know how long I can grow this species of orchid for, but one of the flowers on my Dichaea glauca has bloomed. I wanted to take a photo of it before any unexpected things happened to it.

This species does appear to be fairly hardy compared to many of the other species I've tried growing though. We'll see if it withstands the test of time...

Dichea glauca is the only one I have had long term success with... I find that it is pretty solid until you get around to repotting it. Repotting sends mine into shock and I'm always surprised when it recovers (it will drop a lot of leaves and look like crap for months). Repotting it and then switching it from greenhouse to lights last fall probably didn't help, but I've got a healthy crop of new growths coming.

Thank you everybody.

I forgot to mention that it is fragrant. Smells like baby powder.

Dicheas look like they belong to the Vanda alliance, yet they don't. Interesting plant, King.
