Gorgeous,

I was almost tempted to buy a similar looking NoID at the weekend but resisted. The only way I managed was with the thought that I'm going to an Orchid Show in July and need to save my money. Still wonder if I should have got it anyway though.

I'm going to an Orchid show this weekend (Sunday). I don't know wether to leave my credit card at home and just take some money with me. I've already got 52 orchids so there isn't much space left at home.
On 12,13 and 14 October there's another show in Barcelona that I'll visit too.

I had a gorgeous Zygo but alas it succumbed to our summer heat. I can't help it though. I buy the occasional Noid just to enjoy the bloom. If it dies I don't feel too bad because they are usually inexpensive.

Sometimes we just need the flowers and not worry about if they grow here or not.

Beautiful!!

What media to use? depends on your conditions.
These like being kept humid at the roots.. they also rot easily.......
In my growing conditions I have mine potted in chopped coconut husk & bark and water twice a week in summer and down to once a week in winter...But, the weather does not follow the seasons neccessarily.... A skewer in the pot can help establish when to water as well.
Also, They do not like lots of fertilizer as the leaf tips dry out.
As already mentioned .. the growths/ bulbs are better off growing ABOVE the medium (they dry faster & stay drier & don't rot) They flower on young growths.. once past a certain size new growths won't flower and you need to wait for the next growth to see a spike...
this is my experience in my conditions (Indoors, half way between an E window and a W window, lot's of light but not direct.) Mine is in a plastic see through pot so I can also see the roots all the time. Hope this helps!
Good luck & keep us posted
