The only things I can really suggest is the less water in winter and maybe dissolve some multi-vitamin tablets in water and water the plants with it on occasion and see if that helps the plants perk up.

In the meantime, you can try burning affected areas if it's not too bad.

This problem is a nightmare to deal with and an eyesore to look at.

It really is a confidence killer.

Just unpotted, and the plant still has a large and healthy looking root system. Only a few dead roots. But no a whole lot of active root growth going on.

Guess I'll spray with copper sulfate again, it seems to have slowed it down somewhat. (I sprayed a month ago)

RIP my favorite orchid. The Propetalum has just lost the last growth to whatever disease it was. Such a slow, painful death. The roots and bulbs are looking fine, but I don't have much hope for new growths, the disease must be sitting in them. Now starts the near impossible task of tracking down a replacement, I love this plant so much!

The Promenea on the other hand has been symptom free for nearly 2 months now, and is even putting out some new growths. Hopefully it will stay healthy, though I would have prefered for that one to die instead.
