Excellent - both the flowers and the photography.

I like the color combination on these, Howard, and the shape is nice and full. Is the scent of the blooms a little musty? I think macrophylla is closely related to macrobulbon (and my macrobulbon's blooms don't smell so good), so I'm wondering what macrophylla's scent is like.

Steve, I have to venture out to the greenhouse later today and I'll let you know. BTW, I've been looking for macrobulbon so if you ever get a large enough plant, maybe we might do something together.... maybe?????

Have you tried Tropical Orchid Farm? I know they used to sell Lyc. macrobulbon, but I haven't been to their website in quite some time. Even if it's no longer featured, it couldn't hurt to send them an email about its availability. Orchids Ltd. sells it also, but I would have to get really drunk before I would be able to pull a credit card out of my wallet for the price they were asking last time I looked. In a couple more years I think I'll be ready to split my macrobulbon, and I will be more than happy to make a trade at that time if you haven't had any luck finding a plant of this species yet.

Thanks, Steve. I agree about Orchids, Ltd. I went out to the greenhouse and the fragrance is pleasant, not musty at all. There isn't much there but it is nice
