I would really love to do breeding in such am unexplored area! Not only would I like to do breeding with just Promanaea, but also intergenerics involving them. I am surprised that there hasn't been much done, especially after seeing this pic! Good job Camille!

Wow, I want one! But I am surprised that promenaea and zygos even can be crossed. I have one of each and they are so totally different. The promenaea is a tiny little plant and the zygo a rather large plant. However I can see the influence of both in the flower.

How large is the plant and blooms?

Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation, and totally disconnected from the modern world.
The plant is actually closer to a Zygo in size. The leaves are about a foot long, and the blooms are roughly 2.5-3in across. I have a Promeanaea also, and have a hard time believing that such a tiny plant is a parent of this one. Guess it's the mysteries of genetics!

I would love to be able to create my own hybrid, but the costs are too high and it takes so much patience. I have heard that it is possible to sew the seeds next to the roots of the parent plant with some success. I'm tempted to try that.
