Zygopetalum Louisendorf
Yesterday I bought this beauty. It has 3 open flowers and the fourth is opening right now. Besides it has got a second spike.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Very nice! I have one that I bought labeled 'Louisendorf' too... although I believe mine is a miss labelled plant ...
@ seeing your post I looked for my first post and my plant has more than doubled if not tripled in size since!! enjoy your plant - they flower about twice a year.

me neither !!!!! until I compared the photos and realised.... I shan't be getting another one very soon as really haven't got the space but at least it's a very reliable bloomer.

I've got another Zygopetalum that suffered quite a lot. I got it as a present but had to take it home in my car and drive over 1,000 km, so when I got home the plant started loosing flowers, the pseudobulbs started getting black, many leaves got dark spots, etc. I put it outside on the balcony in the afternoon when the sun isn't so hot anymore and leave it there until the next morning when I put it back inside, before I go to work. I have to put it back inside, or else it receives too much sun. Before I go back to work after lunch, I put it back outside and leave it there for the rest of the day and night. I hope this is what it wants and it will eventually rebloom.

Orquiadicto I'm not an expert on these all I have learnt is that they don't like alot of fertilizer (too much makes their leaves dry up from the tips)
-they like to stay quite moist & not totally dry out but
-they need to be planted with the p/bulbs well above the potting medium, so they don't rot...
They also put out flower spikes from relatively new growths.
Mine sits in the middle of the room at a good 2 meters from an East facing window and about 5m from a West facing window.
Good luck!& let us know how you get on.
