Default Maxillaria sophronitis

Tiny flowers and not very long lasting, but beautiful when in bloom.

It seems to like quite high light, Jeff, and cooler temps. It always blooms for me during the winter.

The flowers are not as long lasting as one would hope, but it's still worth growing.

Definatly as nice species.

I have some cuttings to which I'll try growing in the windowsill after they get established. Currently they are in the greenhouse of my parents.

Can be grown as a mount or potted.

The flowers on mine last 10-14 days. How big/tall is your flower, Ron? BTW, nice photo!

Mine are about half an inch. There is a much larger variety that is reputed to be 4n, but I've not been able to find it.
