Default Zygopetalum Artur Elle 'Randy' X Promenaea xanthina

Hi Everybody!

My INCREDIBLE Zygo is blooming again, this year with two tremendous spikes! It is just flourishing!!!! Likes alot of water... I don't let it dry out at all, which usually means daily watering. The color and form is superb. I wonder if this plant could win any awards? (dare to dream!) I was almost certain it would be fussy when I bought it on a whim, but that hasn't been the case! It makes my summer so very cheerful, when not alot of other orchids are blooming. And, the scent is delicious- kind of a cross between roses and lilacs, though not incredibly strong. Enjoy!

PS- My avatar is a photo of its blooms last year!

Great growing. I have one of these, too.

These are not as scary as they might seem. Zygos are remarkably adaptable plants, and very rewarding.

Now that it has been in full bloom for a few days, the scent has become really strong, and REALLY lovely!!

Dear Elliot

Please could you give me some more tips about how to get my zygopetalum to flower: light conditions and temperature. Thanks for your lovely pics, which encourage me to persevere!

Pat
