What should I do? It doesn't seem like it would break away easily from the plant.

Looks like a new growth to me. I don't think Zygos produce keikis.

Yep. It is a normal new growth. Not a keiki. How long have you had this one?

I agree - looks like new growth - my zygo also tends to 'grow up-hill' like that

I wouldn't remove it, this is a new growth not a keiki. Each pseudobulb grows along short rhizomes.

Zygos don't keiki. Should they be stressed, they'll try to cope the best they can. If they're in a situation where it's not to their liking but won't kill them outright, they'll struggle but won't keiki. If they're not gonna make it, they just keep growing until they exhaust themselves to death.

I've had the Zygo for a year. King are you saying the plant does this because it's stressed?

Nope.

I'm saying it's part of the normal growth cycle.

I just wanted to let you know that it doesn't keiki, and what they'd do if they were stressed. Pretty much trying to drive the point home that they'll never keiki under any circumstance (to my knowledge, of course)

Would you recommend repotting? This new growth is coming out over the edge of the pot.

Actually, now would be a great time to repot. Just be carefull with those new roots, and don't let it get too dry. These guys like moisture at their roots.
