Trigonidium sp.

A native orchid with very small flowers, but that attract Euglossinae bees in profusion. It is simply placed in the fork of a tree (a native tree, Eugenia brasiliensis, that produces a fruit called "grumixama"), without further care.
I'm not sure about the correct species, Trigonidium obtusum or insignis, so I let the "sp."

I have never seen this particular type of orchid before. I sure love the color, shape, and patterning on the flower. Nice foliage, too.

Hi 'Sun'!

For human noses, the flowers seems to have no scent (but certainly the bees smell something!). I also like to "capture" a pic with Euglossinae bees in the flowers, but they only appear at certain times of the day, you must be lucky!
