Default Bifrenaria tyrianthina

Here's my Bifrenaria tyrianthina in bloom. I have maybe three or four species, but Frederico is the true master of this genus.

I like that soft pink color. The blooms have a nice shape, too.

Speaking of shape, this Bifrenaria shape always reminds me that of Lycaste...

Yes, they remind me of lycaste flowers also, Mauro. Your plant's blooms are fantastic, and much better than those that my tyrianthina produces. My plant produces unattractive dark purple blooms that are not shaped very well--and their scent (unlike harrisoniae's) is terrible. Congratulations on your beautiful flowers.

Steve

Hi Mauro! Nice Bifra!

Steve, in fact the scent of tyrianthinas is something like "old flowers", but its far from "terrible"! Try the Bifr tetragona's scent! You'll smell an admixture of "metal", "garlic" and "dead rat" - THIS is terrible!!
