Thanks Sue and I did catch you hanging another of your chids out over the pool! You know you have just got to stop showing that kind of stuff on this "G-Rated" board. You are going to get yourself in a ton of trouble!!!!!

The picture in OrchidWiz is a soft pink without the reflexed petals of yours but otherwise similar. It is a complex hybrid and a wide range of colors might not be unexpected, especially when some alba ancestors might be involved as noted earlier.
Yours is one of the most impressive Lycastes I've ever seen pictured. Thanks for sharing...

This plant has flowered for me for the past 3 years and each year the flowers seem to darken. This is from last year....

Wow, that is a dark, dark red. Really nice! I would have probably voted for it in this year's calendar if it had opened sooner!

Gorgeous color! I like the picture too. I definitely would have voted for this one. You should save it for next year's calendar!

I never heard of such a rule! I think anyone can submit any photo, even if it's several years old. Send this photo next year for the 2011 calendar, because it sure is a winner!
I can't believe how much darker it became since last year. It looks much nicer being dark red rather than that washed out pink from before. Did you change anything in it's growing conditions that may have caused that?
