Bifrenaria harrisoniae (unnusual color)
This clone has an unnusual color, something between yellow and straw, with a purple touch in the lateral sepals. The perfume is strong (mainly in the early morning) and delicious; the scent remember me C. shroederae and C. labiata perfumes.

Congratulations, Frederico!
Very nice!!
This is one of my favorite species. Unfortunately, it is capricious in my conditions. If I could flower it every other year, I was fortunate. I gave up.

2nd place!
In the last weekend we had a great Orchid Show here, and my plant won second place in its category!

Those are beautiful, Frederico. And now that you mention it, I think you're right, harrisoniae's scent is very much like that of Cattleya labiata. When my labiata flowered last fall for the first time, I was sure that I had smelled its perfume before, but I couldn't remember when or where. I should have been able to recall it once my Bifrenaria harrisoniae bloomed in the spring.
Do you have different varieties of harrisoniae--and do you notice any difference in the fragrances between the varieties? I have a semi-alba flowered plant and one that produces alba flowers. The alba one's scent is particularly strong, so much so that it's a bit overpowering. I'm curious to know whether anyone else has found something similar in the different varieties of this species.

Hi Steve!
Yes, absolutely right! Even a human nose can note the different smells! Probably the pollinator insect will be able to discloses the different smells much better than us! A Brazilian botanist (Vitorino Paiva de Castro Neto) thinks there are many different species under the label "Bifrenaria harrisoniae", and he wiil try to split them (probably with genetics, 'cause morphologicaly all harrisoniae are very similar)
