I'd like to hear some advice for this species too, before I get one.

Much variation in fragrance with this species. I've smelled some that had a strong coconut scent, and others that smelled more like propane.

I give mine phal light, slightly more and let it dry a little before watering. However I havn't had it long and it dosn't seem to be doing much lately. Just finished blooming...awesome scent though.

Rai, I grow them like cattleyas. It can also do well in phal's condition. The species grows very rapidly and you should fertilize the plants regularly. It grows well in Taiwan and i thinks it will also do well in Vietnam.

My Max. tenufolia is growing well after heeding the advice to keep it evenly moistit is about 3 ft away from a metal halide, so far it seems happy but is too small to bloom yet. I look forward to it flowering and pray mine smells of coconut not propane!!

What kind of media are you guys growing in?

As mine is a seedling it is in fine bark. I am sure as it grows I will have to change it to medium bark, I will be glad for some advice on that one cabbo.

My orchids always do well in moss. I think i will try that for Max. tenuifolia.
