For what it's worth, Tropical Orchid Farm gives the following information re: its Lycaste candida product:
Cute dwarf species. Up to 10 flowers per bulb. Something like the fabulous L. brevispatha but with green sepals, white petals and lip beautifully spotted with pink. Details of habitat unknown. Very rare, very limited.
I may have to see if TOF still has a candida stuck somewhere so I could do a side by side comparison.
I measured the fc's in the lycaste area today - at noon it was 5000 and at 3 it was 3000-4000 fc's By 3 it was sunny but it wasn't a crystal clear sunny day. Prior to noon, it is deep shade.

Cool flower, STeve! I always loved Lycastes, but they are not easy to grow here. I've been trying a few species, like ciliata, fimbriata var. peruviana, macrophylla and skinneri without great success I confess.
