They do need bright light to flower. Mine gets full morning sun, and I've seen them getting some degree of full sun in the tropics too. When it's in bloom on a warm day I can smell it all through the house.

Tash, it's gorgeous! I have that on my list for my next purchase. Can't wait. I have the Max. variabilis 'Grace' and it's blooming now. I have mine in sphag moss and right up on the windowsill, but not touching. My room gets about 62F in the night. And it gets lots of sun. That was the secret to blooming them.... cold, moist, and sun.
Can't wait to get the tenuifolia. Thanks for sharing the new info that it sings too! Wowser!

Here is mine, and I'm hoping I didn't just put in the two bluriest pics I have. It doesn't sing much, just kind of gurgles a bit, but it's one of my favorites.
