Roses are beautiful too, but the cut ones don't last long. I once had a rose garden with 27 plants, but found it to be a real chore to keep them healthy. Too much rain and humidity required bi-weekly anti-fungal spraying sessions on the tops and bottoms of all their leaves.
Orchids are a much better option for a Central Florida grower.
Valentine's Day Gift
surprised me with this beautiful Phal. on Valentine's Day. He purchased it from a florist shop and was quick to tell me it had no name, but that the lady who sold it to him said it meant Valentine... Yeah Right...You don't even want to know how much he paid for this beautiful Noid. 
It's a robust plant with a healthy root system and the longest spike I've ever seen. There is also a second spike that hasn't yet matured.
