Thanks for all the wonderful comments. It does have one drawback however, it is pretty wide (about 21/2'). But you can put all your paphs around it and they think they're living in the jungle.

My Zygopetalum Granite Island is in spike now. I'm really happy. It's the second blooming for me.

Beautiful Barbara. I have one too, it gave me only one spike so far and with only two flowers. It has another new growth but seems to stop growing. I am in Southern Cali and we have a numbers of very cold day here, down to below 40 in Feb. It seems to stop growing when it was too cold. I don't know if I should water it weekly when it was too cold.

Very nice Barbara.

What media are you growing in? Looks like charcoal chunks with lots of holes in your pot........how about frequency of watering?

I've had 2, killed 2, but not deterred. My wife loves the scent of Hyacinths, so this be a great addition to my kitchen bay.

"My wife loves the scent of Hyacinths..."

Careful though - some zygos mix that smell with a subtle scent of Off Bug Spray. Mine does, but I still love it - so easy to grow
