Default Zygo Noid from TJ's

While I really enjoy growing most any orchid, Zygos are kind of special to me. My ability to detect odors is quite impaired, but THESE, even I can smell!! Even intergenerics in this group usually have that great fragrance. I happened to be in our local Trader Joes early this week, and couldn't resist getting this plant. It is a Noid, but my guess is that it is Zygolum Rhein Harlequin. If that is true, this may well thrive even in warm conditions. The second picture is Z. Days Gone By which was in bloom so took some more pictures of it as well. Our local TJ's have Zygos quite often.

I picked up one of those NOID Zygos from Trader Joe's when I was in Austin, Texas a couple of summers ago. (We don't have TJ's up here in New York State, alas.) Who knows what the parentage is, but it has turned out to be an easy, non-fussy grower, and one of the most reliable bloomers out of all my 'chids. Puts on a great fragrant show for months on end.

Hey Stephen, under what conditions do you grow your Zygo? I am trying to gather as much info as possible so I can grow my new plant!

Nothing special at all. The only things I've found is that it likes to be root-bound, and it likes A LOT of water. It's one of my only potted 'chids that gets soaked nearly every day.
