Default Lycaste Shoalhaven

Lycaste Shoalhaven (skinneri x Koolena). I wish the petals are not reflexed back, but I still love the color. NS is 12 cm.

WOW - what a beauty. It must have been made with skinneri var. alba. Mine is the pink version but I see a new quest for me :>)

Every time I reduce my list, someone posts something to make me add to the list, again.

I pot this in a small ceramic pot just to enough room for the roots. Mine is grown with just about less light than what I grow Cattleya. The medium I used is my homemade mix with:

1 part medium fir bark
1 part medium (3/8") lava rocks
1 part #3 perlite
1 part #12 sand (not so fine like play sand)
1 part tree fern fiber
1 part medium size coconut husk
1 part acid soil mix
1 part pumice

I like to water my plants so my mix is fast drainage! I water every 3 days more in the summer. Summer day temp can go up to 80F winter night can go down to 45F.

And yes my avatar is Stanhopea nigroviolacea the picture was taken in July. I can post the full size pic later.
