I just love it! How big is it? It looks to be a decent size and not a mini. Thanks for sharing it again!

That is a very odd looking maxillaria. Very nice colors, I thought it was a lycaste.

"The genus Lycaste has plicate, deciduous leaves with short, ovate, thick, ribbed psuedobulbs with 2 or 3, thin, heavily-veined, apical leaves with foliaceous sheaths at the base " ... ORCHIDSPECIES PHOTO ENCYCLOPEDIA.

I'm sure mine is a Maxillaria ... my plant don't have a pseudobulb and the leaves are round and aren't heavy-veined....
The flower could be a Lycaste... maybe a natural hybrid maxillaria - Lycaste????

could possibly be a natural hybrid, I believe its called a maxicatse. I have dont have much experience with larger maxillarias though so it could still be one. You dont see anything like it on orchidspecies.com. I would like to know the mname too. Is it fragrant?

Looks like a lycaste to me also. Most of my maxillaria have pseudobulbs, don't put as high a flower stem out, and none have leaves that are, well, lycaste looking. Nor do the flowers look that way.

On the flip side, seen ones labeled what I never expected so one never knows.

But if it is any help, it is a magnificent flower!!!!!! Let us know if you discover the name.

This maxillaria is not fragrant....
I've showed this maxillaria to a friend, he's like an encyclopedia.... he work 30 years with orchids here in Ecuador... and he told me that this Maxillaria is a kind of Fletcheriana.... very rarely...
I don't think so, it has so many differences with max fletcheriana... but the center of the flower is very simillar... It could be.... I'm not a doctor in maxillarias
anyway ... I wanted put my name on this maxillaria albertoiii is fine...
