Strange Zygopetalum
I recently went to a closing of an orchid nursery and purchased a strange Zygopetalum species named pedicellatum I think I cant read the tag very well.
I can't find any info on the growing conditions, like media, temps, light, fertilizer. Does anybody have this plant I understand its not too common. It is an oddity because unlike other zygos this plant has a monopodial growth habit just like the Vandas. Can any body help?

It is also known as Z. mossenianum. Jay's site says this species is from Brazil, from 600-1200m in rainforests. So I *guess* it likes warm and wet conditions?
I have heard that this Zygo is quite rare, and is quite difficult to grow ![Good Luck](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/goodluck.gif)

I have heard that it is a rare species, I have never seen it for sale and cant find it anywhere on the net. This is like the lost species. Sounds like it likes it warm wet and humid. ![Sad](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif) Hope it can stand me I have no humidity here in California.

I don't know this species at all, but instead of warm temps, I would provide intermediate temps. Sao Paulo is quite in the south of south america and therefore in sub-tropical area. Furthermore, according to IOSPE the plant grows at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters in montane rainforests, which means that temps can also be a bit lowers... So far I know sometimes you can even have temps closer to 0°C (32F) during the Winter time in Sao Paulo, even if exceptional!

Ewww, This plant might get the boot if it needs the cold temps. I dont have a way of giving it cooler temps. I will wait and see if it starts to go south I will give it away.
