Not everybody likes blackish orchids, Dorothy, but this one is super, at least to my taste. This flower is most commonly found in dark brownish-wine color, but some are almost black. The plant is short and keeps giving flowers for more than 7-8months.

Wow! That is a really black orchid. Is it one of the cool growing Maxillarias? Also, is there a smell?

Intermediate temps are the best for this species, Steve. No smell.
