Default Lycaste cochleata

Surprise, Surprise this morning. There are several more buds and if I remember correctly this one has a nice smell, but I can't detect anything yet...

oooooohhhh yes.. the scent will come I had this one (purchased it from 'orchids in our tropics' at a local show, but I don't have it anymore.

I was a bad lycaste parent ok!! I had trouble growing it (back in the early days of my orchid growing), and tossed it when it gave me tiny pseudobulbs and scraggly growth. Now I miss it!!!!!!!!!! ahhh. I'll prob buy a new one soon- I have my eye on one of those new large, pink- flowering hybrids.

good growing

Beautiful!! I'd like having the right conditions to grow more of these beauties. I'm trying Ida (former Lycaste) ciliata, fimbriata and peruviana. They are starting to put new growths, so let's see. Congrats on this beautiful flower, Laura
