Zygos can be tricky. I have heard that they have a tendency to self-polinate (same as Phragmipediums). Remove all pollen from the flower before you attempt the pollination.
On a different note, Zygos grow pretty fast. I bought some plugs a few years ago, and bloomed the first plant in 14 months.
